FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
EMMAUS, PA, and NEW YORK, April 21, 2009-Rodale announced today the launch of Rodale.com, a source for daily news, information, and advice on personal and environmental health. Through news stories, videos, recipe and home remedy finders, a newsletter, and "Maria's Farm Country Kitchen," a blog from Editor-in-Chief Maria Rodale, the site provides users with simple, powerful tools to help them improve their health and their environment.
"Our tagline, 'Where health meets green,' captures the philosophy of Rodale.com," said Rodale, who is also the Chairman of Rodale Inc. "From the food you eat to the medicines you take to the products you purchase to clean your home, there's a direct connection between your personal health and the health of the environment. Rodale.com explains this relationship in a meaningful, actionable way-for example, by explaining the real health benefits of eating organic or helping you understand how air pollutants affect your children's health. Down-to-earth, approachable, and with a dash of humor, the site is also easy to use, entertaining, and a lot of fun."
Rodale.com will feature daily updated content, including breaking news items and topical videos with easy-to-follow, high-impact tips and advice. Recipe and home remedy finders give users access to a comprehensive database of more than 6,000 recipes and home remedies from Rodale magazines, including Prevention, Women's Health, Men's Health, and Organic Gardening, as well as many of Rodale's category-leading health and wellness books. Topic pages provide deeper context on relevant issues, from antioxidants to vitamin D, and "Maria's Farm Country Kitchen" blog provides a personal, engaging, and sometimes irreverent look at how Maria Rodale and her family bring the "Where health meets green" ethos to life.
The site will cover a number of topics, including nutrition, fitness, wellness, children's health, disease management, and sexual and mental health. Rodale.com charter sponsors are Barbara's Bakery, New Chapter Organics, and Canyon Ranch. In addition to Rodale Inc.'s policy of not carrying advertising for alcohol, tobacco or lawn and garden chemicals, Rodale.com will not feature advertising from pharmaceutical companies.
Rodale, with more than 70 years as the world's leading publisher of health and environmental information, will provide links on Rodale.com to its magazine brands. The company is the publisher of Prevention, Men's Health, Women's Health, Runner's World, Bicycling and Organic Gardening magazines as well as books like Eat This, Not That!, Flat Belly Diet!, The Intellectual Devotional, and Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth, as well as his follow-up title, Our Choice, which will be released next year.

The Grand Prize is a free weeklong fly-away healthy vacation for two to the world-renowned Canyon Ranch resort and spa in Lenox, MA, valued at $16,000.
