New York, NY, March 24, 2009 - Rodale Inc. today announced that Michelle Meyercord has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Rodale International, effective immediately. In this role, Meyercord will continue to oversee all aspects of Rodale's International operations, across editorial, marketing, and global business development. She will be responsible for the continued expansion of Rodale's core brands, including Men's Health, Women's Health, Prevention and Runner's World, to key growth markets around the world while building brand extensions across online, ecommerce and other channels. Meyercord will continue to report to Eric deCavaignac, SVP, Finance & Strategic Planning.
"Under Michelle's leadership, Rodale International broke records in 2008 by launching 11 new international editions - the most Rodale has ever launched in one year - and generating the department's highest revenues to date," said deCavaignac. "Together with an outstanding team of global partners, Michelle continues to build Rodale's market presence in critical growth markets, such as China, Brazil and Russia, and her work has contributed significantly to Rodale's success across the board. As interest in health and wellness grows worldwide, I have the utmost confidence that Michelle will continue to lead Rodale International even further down its path of success."
The heightened interest in health and wellness around the world and the strong performance of Women's Health globally, which launched five international editions in 2008 alone, has contributed to the recent success of Rodale International. Online businesses in the UK, Germany and Australia continue to drive growth for Rodale International, and many global brands continue to outperform the market.
Prior to joining Rodale in 2002, Meyercord worked for Primedia International and About.com in Development and Marketing. She also worked for Arnell Group Consulting. Meyercord graduated from Duke University in 1991.
